Faith Formation: Easter Reflection & Blessing

Although we have some very solemn and sacred days ahead of us, today’s message focuses on the greatest and the most important feast in the Church which will be celebrated this weekend... Easter. It marks the birthday of our eternal hope.  "Easter" literally means "the feast of fresh flowers."  We celebrate it with pride and jubilation for three reasons:
  1. The resurrection of Christ is the basis of our Christian Faith
  2. Easter points to our own resurrection through the risen Christ.
  3. Easter is a feast which gives us hope and encouragement.

The following Easter poem written by Helen Steiner Rice that has been appreciated by people from all walks of life. The beauty of spring merged with the grace of God makes this poem a delightful one to read. Reading this beautiful composition will take you closer to the real essence of the poem and allow you to experience the true grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Easter Reflections”

With OUR EYES we see
The beauty of Easter
As the earth awakens once more.

With OUR EARS we hear
The birds sing sweetly
To tell us spring again is here.

With OUR HANDS we pick
The golden daffodils
And the fragrant hyacinths.

But only with OUR HEARTS
Can we feel the MIRACLE of GOD'S LOVE
Which redeems all men.

And only with OUR SOUL
Can we make our 'pilgrimage to God'
And inherit His Easter Gift of ETERNAL LIFE.`

Let us turn to worship in song as you listen to an Easter version of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” by Christian singer-songwriter Kelly Mooney at the link that follows.  Kelly Mooney has been performing since she was just 5 years old. She was inspired to write her own Easter rendition of “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen. Her version of the song told the story of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection in the most beautiful way.  We are blessed to have this beautiful Easter Hallelujah to share each year. Please pause and enjoy this beautiful rendition . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MC1Nvn4Bk0Y
